My kids really enjoyed Lin Yi’s Lantern: A Moon Festival Tale written by Branda Williams and illustrated by Benjamin Lacom. Lin Yi is getting ready to celebrate the Moon Festival with is mother and uncle. But first he must go to the market for moon cakes, star fruit, rice, yams and a special treat for his uncle… peanuts. Lin Yi really wants a red rabbit lantern for the festival, so his mother tells him he can buy one if he has enough money left. I won’t spoil the story, but I loved the ending. It was a sweet story and the illustrations are stunning. We really enjoyed this book and it left us all smiling.
